Long awaited update

Ok, ok. I admit that it took me months to get around to posting a new set of photos. Could it be that life is getting easier out in Seattle?

Here are some photos of our recent trip to L.A. where Jack and Bella saw Glenn get her star (and then sat and had breakfast on it with Lucy). Plus photos of B&J peaking out the window at day care, Bella reading her favorite book, and Jack taking a stroll with his fancy new walker.

Mr. Mom

I'm not one to spray on the internet, but I put Bella to sleep this morning while feeding Jack with the other hand and kicking a ball for Lola so she wouldn't bother anyone. I would've just told Abby but she knows it's not very impressive compared to feeding Bella while putting Jack to sleep.

makin' history

Jack and Barry voting for Barak Obama. Jack thinks the pen tastes good. Barry thinks he's proud to have shown his son a piece of history.

2-D

Jack and Bella expanded their world by dimensions this last week. Both started crawling. Well, scooting is more accurate. Bella crawls like a good soldier, though she keeps hinting she's ready to crawl on hands and knees. Jack, however, has decided he will move by putting his arms out and pulling. Really hard. He's surprisingly fast and I couldn't be prouder. Actually we're pretty proud of both of them. OK, actually we're really scared.

Perhaps the more important 2-Ds this week, were "Da-da". Bella learned that I will pay attention to her, give her everything she wants, with these two syllables. That didn't take long. At least she's not saying "car-car" yet.

taking it sitting down

Sorry we've been so slack in updating the blog this summer. We had a great trip to the east coast. Abby and Jack and Bella got to spend a lot of time up in Maine with Abby's family, and I got to spend a lot of time driving between Woods Hole and Portland. We're back in Seattle now.

Jack and Bella started at Hutch Kids day care last week and Abby's nominally back at work. A big transition for everyone, as you might expect. So far, Bella seems overjoyed to have to many people around and Jack seems somewhat nonplused. We'll see.

Along the way, Jack and Bella are both champion rollers and are getting really close to crawling. They both can sit up on their own for a bit too. Until they get distracted and tip over trying to look at something.

leaps and bounds

Here we are, in Minnesota. Even the TSA goons were nice to us traveling with twins. It's a bit sad that a couple with a baby and a toddler would get dirty looks instead of the help we recieved, but, hey, we'll take what we can get. Jack and Bella were really good on the plane and the whole trip was deceptively easy.

Now that we're here, new adventures abound. There are, of course, new sights and sounds. Bella stayed up until 11:00pm last night taking it all in, despite our pleadings to go to sleep. She was working hard on something, though, because today she's rolling over onto her stomach, a new trick.

We're hading up to my grandparents' lake cabin today. We're hoping we can go 2 for 2 on long, confined trips. I think Jack will like fishing.
